Quiet please

I took Finley to the Library this morning for story time and singing. She LOVES books and loves to sing so I thought she would love this event. It is specifically for her age and we have been trying to get out and explore new things so I thought she would love it and it would be great. WRONG. We were suppose to sit on the quilt while the nice, patient lady read to us and then we would sing songs together. Well Finley had a better idea that involved running circles around the group, trying to take the book out of the readers hands, stealing another little girls baby doll, and running to the door and telling everyone BYE-BYE in her sweet little voice. I tried to get her to sit down with us but she was not having it so we packed up our stuff and quietly (or maybe not) made our exit. We will try again...when she is 5. Ha!

Baby talk

Finley has been doing baby sign language since she was around 11 months old (ive been meaning to post a video). We had heard that this could delay her speaking/vocabulary...well of course I didn't listen to them and she has proven "them" wrong. Her first word was mama followed closely with dada then baby, gamecock, and she didn't stop there. She now says her first 2 words together..."go bye-bye". She says this when she is ready to go somewhere or she wants to leave and can be quite demanding when she says it. I have no idea where she gets that from ;) I will have to make a list of words that she says soon so that I will not forget. Here is a short video talking about some of her favorite people...

Summer Summer Time

I know that it has been FOOOOREVVVVERRRR since I posted last. We have been busy bunch and I just have not had the time to sit down and post plus my picture upload has been extremely slow. The Buscher have had a blast this summer! Finley is just like her Mom and loves doing anything outdoors. We visited the Marchbanks and Tollesons in Greenville. Finley and Tripp played great together. One of the best things we got this summer was a baby pool that has kept Fin occupied and happy all summer. We have gone swimming with Mattox and Tucker a bunch and they have an awesome pool that is perfect for little ones. Finley loves to follow her big cousins around and she gets a huge grin on her face when I tell her we are going to see them. For the Forth of July we went on boat with the Bolens on Lake Murray. We went to Jacksonsville to visit all of the Buscher family and had a great time with Mimi and Grandad. We were able to go to the beach with them and had a blast. Then we went to the beach with all of the Simmons family on our annual vacation. And of course I can't forget OMAHA!!! But that will have to get it's own post (or several). Here are some pictures of what we have been up to this summer...

Mothers Day 2011

Although this was technically not my first Mother's Day it did kinda feel like it. I spent my first Mother's Day hugging the toilet...YUCK!!! I had the dreaded stomach virus and it pretty much ruined everyones day. So after that disapointment I was really looking forward to this year. We had a very nice day at Papa and GRocks house hanging out with the family. Finley woke me up at 7:00 because I'm sure she couldn't wait to tell me Happy Mothers Day! Ha! But I am most thankful for the mothers in my life...I would be who I am and where I am with out my Amazing Mom. Brian and I are bo so blessing with AWESOME mothers who have shaped us into the people that we are today and they both make the BEST GRock and Mimi! The best gifts don't come wrapped with a bow or tissue paper the best Mother's day gift that I get are when Finley climbs in my lap when I am playing on the floor with her, or a big, mouth wide open, sloppy kiss, or the excitment on her face when she sees after I have been away, or when she lays her head on my shoulder and pats my back with I get her out of her crib in the morning, or the big grin and belly laugh she gives me when I sing to her...those are the best mother's day gifts and they are priceless.

Lucky 13!

Happy 13 months Finley! Wow I can't believe that that this time last year you were only one month old. We were in Columbia, Ohio and finding our groove with sleeping, feedings, and baseball game. So much has change yet remains the same.
What I'm doing now:
*I no longer eatting any baby food and have completely weaned from nursing...I love grilled cheese, chicken, chicken nuggets/fingers, yogurt, carrots, green beans, strawberries (your favorite), turkey, oranges, spaghetti, and more. For the most part you are a good eater but you do have your moments. You weaned off breast milk very easily...much to my dismay.
*You say many words like dada, mama, juice, doda (doggie), Tata (Tucker), Papa, bat (bath), babba (bubbles), bir (bird), bye bye, Gamecock, ducduc (duck),
*You sleep until around 7:30-8:00 am and you still take a morning nap and an afternoon nap.
*We are teaching you sign language and right now you can sign juice, please, eat, more, all done, hot, milk
*You love to sing with Momma and unfortunately I think you have my voice.

Happy Birthday to B

Happy Birthday to B...my best friend, best Daddy in the world, love of my life, my husband. It is so hard to believe that this is the 9th birthday that we have celebrated together. We met when we were in our twenties but now we have left them behind. Many may feel a little sad and depressed to turn 30 but I was not. I am very happily married to a man who I love and adore and who feels the same way about me. We are incredibly blessed with a healthy, beautiful, vivacious baby girl that we love more than anything in the world. We have our health, family, friends, and faith. Each year that we have on this earth is a blessing and gift from God therefore I treat each birthday that way. I am happy that we have lived another year and we are celebrating life...not getting older.

B and I had a great night celebrating his birthday. He was a little afraid that I would throw him a party but I didn't. I got a babysitter for Finley and we went to dinner at one of his favorite restaurants, Ruth's Chris. YUMMY!! It was just as good as we remembered. It was only or 2nd date since Finley was born and while we missed her we enjoyed some adult conversation and our dinner with out trying to feed a baby at the same time. We both said that we had such great birthdays that we can't wait to turn 30 again next year! HA!
